I had the immense pleasure of photographing Tracey & Dave’s wonderful wedding at The Knowle, Higham, earlier this year. The couple are one of the nicest I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet – they are such lovely people who are adored by their family & friends and it was an absolute gift to have a front row seat on their big day.
The Knowle Country House is a stunning venue tucked away in Higham, Kent. Available for exclusive hire, the setting & the staff make you feel very special indeed. The grounds are particularly beautiful & couples can be married outdoors in the venue’s wonderful garden Gazebo.
The flowers were supplied by Floral Explosion, who are based in Longfield, who always deliver stunning arrangements. I see their work many times during the wedding season & their services are highly recommended.
The Bride & Groom individually planned some wedding day surprises for each other & I was in the know! The first surprise was that Tracey had hired an Aston Martin DB5 (www.astonmartindb5hire.co.uk) as the wedding car & even when the iconic ‘James Bond’ car pulled into the hotel car park, Dave still didn’t realise it was for him! Immediate family made sure they were at The Knowle to await the Groom’s, shaken but not stirred, arrival! The Aston Martin then returned to the hotel to collect the Bride & we even had the opportunity to grab some additional images of them both with the car following the Ceremony – all great fun.
The weather was glorious & the couple were married, as planned, in the garden Gazebo witnessed by all their guests.
The second surprise, again organised by Tracey, was The Three Waiters, being the original singing waiters. The very talented guys were dressed like waiters & mingled in with the waiting staff. When the timing is perfect & to the shock of all their guests they delivered the most thrilling operatic performance, a la The Three Tenors. The Groom & the guests were speechless & it was a wonderful treat. I particularly like the look on the Groom’s face when they started singing – priceless. Well done Tracey xx
Their wedding day was wonderful but made even better by the very last surprise. This time the surprise was for the Bride. Tracey had been told by Dave to pack for a ‘summer honeymoon’ which she suspected was Italy. It was Tracey’s turn to be rendered speechless when Dave informed her they were off, the very next day, to the Maldives for a perfect diving honeymoon – how amazing is that! The couple are keen snorkelers & divers & I couldn’t resist, earlier in the day, the opportunity to grab a snorkel image by the lake behind the venue! Not quite the Maldives, I know, but as close as I could get on the wedding day. I think the image speaks for itself & demonstrates the newly-weds perfectly, mad as hatters, hilarious & incredibly great company.
Heaps of love to you both & thank you for choosing me to capture your wonderful wedding day, Lee xx
